Proverbs 24:17-18 is one of many reasons an arrogant "I told you so..." shouldn't be in the Christian vocabulary.
Proverbs 24:17-18 (Amplified Bible)
Rejoice not when your enemy falls, and let not your heart be glad when he stumbles or is overthrown,
Lest the Lord see it and it be evil in His eyes and displease Him, and He turn away His wrath from him [to expend it upon you, the worse offender].
After all aren't we saved by grace? Then what makes us better than the person who is our enemy? God's favor, Christ's providence. Nothing else!
