Video Update | Trip to Phoenix
Nearly three weeks ago we visited my sister (Andrea), her husband (Cody) and their new addition, Presley Reed Buller. It's great being an Uncle.
This trip was Selah's first plane trip. Here is a video of her waiting to board the plane.
Below is our trip to the Phoenix Children's Museum.
And finally Selah loving on baby Presley!

This is what happens to Selah as we wait for the doctor to arrive.

My New Cell Phone...
Last Friday (after much facebook/twitter input) I got my new cell phone. What did I get?
The brand new EnV Touch...
In my humble (but accurate) opinion - the EnV Touch is the best phone that Verizon offers at this time. There are still rumors that iPhone is coming to VZW Network, but it is not in the foreseeable future.
Sondra got a G'zOne Boulder...
Great for an mom who spends time at a pool or beach.
FYI - Selah ruined her last cell.
Thanks for all those who gave me advice. It really helped me narrow my choices down.

My 1000th Blog Post! And it's a Doozy!
It's hard to believe that I've written 1000 blog posts, but I have. And this one (#1000) is in the top 5 for me. Why?

Because Sondra and I are Prego! Yep it's in there! Sondra is pregnant and carrying our second child due in January. It's so fun to get to talk to Selah about her new brother or sister. I ask her where is the baby? And she goes up to mom's tummy and kiss it!
HOW AWESOME IS THAT!
Go over to Sondra's Blog [www.lightshinesthru.com] and show some love.

Names, Not Numbers.
Too many churches get caught up in numbers. How many conversions, attendance, or dollars in the offering plate are often at the top of the list. Although I see no problem in tracking this information, it's not what I want to focus on. Numbers have no heart, no personality, no depth.
I want to focus on Names. Names of people who are being transformed by the good news. Names of those who are learning to trust Christ in what area of life they find themselves. Names of those who have joined the mission of Jesus to lay down their life for others so that they may truly live.
It's about names. Not Numbers.

the best education comes in a burning bush...
In preparation to plant a church I am cracking the text books again. I've started seminary (or as many call it 'cemetery') and I will be getting my Master's in Theology.
Although I believe it is very important to educate oneself in theology, as well as immerse yourself in the text, it is more important to seek God in the everyday and he will reveal himself to you.
I think of all the times that I (and many others) try to educate myself into knowing God. But that is not how God usually grows people. I think of Moses and countless other who did not 'know' him until he shows himself to them. In Moses' case it was a burning bush. Moses is immediately knows that God is a consuming fire, everlasting, and a living being just by the medium that God chose to reveal himself in.

Then he goes onto say that he hears the cry of the oppressed and he has come to free them. God reveals himself, his nature, his character in just a few moments. I could argue that Moses knew God better in those 5 mins that I will "know God" through countless hours of seminary.
I don't know much, but I do know is this... God reveals himself through His Spirit to whomever he wishes. Not through a education.
Although education does not hurt, and can it can lay a foundation of truth, I find that the best education we could ever hope for comes in a burning bush.
So by all means... read, study, learn, but always be ready for the Wind of God to move. Then and only then will you know what it's like to know God!
